"We used to meet every Thursday Thursday Thursday in the afternoon,"

****Our Saturday, 10/01/05 appearance on AM 1280 has been postponed! I need to call Chris' booking guy back, but he had mentioned 10/29/05. Don't think I won't update you, either.

That said, Friday night will be another late St Paul night, for those interested. MacKinney and I are certainly going to be in attendance (edit: add one (3) Brian Larson, Nate, Dan) at the Roller Derby (Roy Wilkins, 7:30 p.m., $10, or $12 rinkside). Under consideration by Daddy Warbucks, Luke, the Evil James Johns. Possibly more people I have notified, but not heard back from quite yet. Chalk it on the docket! Not certain if we will be heading to the Station 4 afterparty, or heading back to Cathedral Hill for further libations.

A few more workdays and a blazing weekend, and Kelly'll be in town for a handful of buttered vacation days. And 10/12/05--the tattoo. I am excited to see it as you are.

Coffee ground soup.

Couple'a morning links for you folks.

You won't understand a bit of this hilarious YTMND unless you are familiar with leetspeak. PWNED!

Oh--looks like the Roller Derby is finally kicking off--this Friday, too. Still under consideration. Anybody interested?

you saluting?

what's that? ...a sock full of nickels?! NOES!

I've said it many times, and I am going to say it again, I hope to someday create a tradition: Every time someone utters the phrase "there ought to be a law...", sap them over the head with a sock full of nickels. It will be worth the consequences.

I was trailed by a dissociative schizophrenic this evening, on my way home. He was screaming obscenities and threatening to crack my head open. Oh, you Snelling Avenue, you. I suppose it was payment for hearing him rant on the bus beforehand. Something about a room full of chopsticks. I did survive, obviously.

Happy freakin' birthday, Daddy Warbucks. We're heading down to Costello's or Fern's, soon.

vroom,

And I've got to go to work?

Well-swept weekend. Was out with Matt and Adam Saturday night, taking the ideological world by storm. I should take pictures more often.

Wednesday, LPMN Fundraiser/pot luck. Seeing you there?

Oh boy. "WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In what peace activists call a milestone, Sen. Mark Dayton, D-Minn., introduced legislation Thursday supporting a long-shot citizen lobbying effort to create a U.S. Department of Peace and Nonviolence."
Star Tribune, article here.

Reminds me of something from a book I once read.

WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

Welcome to the Ministry of Peace.

Keep the morning outta here.

Look at what time it is! Here I sit, still purging last night's dual bar-closeout from my aching noggin. Happy freakin' birthday, Nik!

My hair gets cut tomorrow. I'm a hippie! Otherwise, another five-day cube farm charge, before Corey and I are on AM 1280--Saturday, 10/01/05, 10:00 a.m. Be an early bird and let me know how I held up.

"It's the grand parade of lifeless packaging--all ready to use!" Oh, you, Peter Gabriel.

And viola! Headache's gone. I'd best get up off my ass, now.

merry weekend to you,

Notice!

***to much regret, Mascarade will not be performing on Saturday evening***

For the interim, trying to plan another, smaller, quieter event, for those who are interested. If not, there is always the Terminal Bar on the 28th--the Friday before Halloween, which is being planned as a masquerade, if you were all about the show and bar, as most of us are. :) We will all be there, too.

Contact me, as hopefully there will be alternate events, if that is what you're booking. Who ammi kidding? Me and crew, always a good time.

Unearth this!

Dot dot dot. Last night's "FSP Meetup" reached its peak with a rousing debate of quantum theory and drunken calculus. Adam and I duking it out over the whiteboard. Pictures, ENSUE!

Remote in-hand for mania, wit can't be extinguished right now. Hopefully I can ride it through the rest of the night. THE LAUNDRY WILL NOT STOP ME! Maybe even buck it through tomorrow evening--as soon as MacKinney and Nik are out of System of a Down, Adam, myself, and the drink will pounce. They will not know what hit them. Unless, of course, they read this. If you care to partake, let me know.

If you're really bored, or more paranoid than me, go read about MacKinney and his Peak Oil. ;)

May make another dropping here later. If not, catch you at the Mascarade show on Saturday, and more-to-come.

Dance the jagged.

Added more pictures from the machine gun shoot from this last Saturday. Nik keeps sending them in threes.

After what seems to be a bulbous boondoggle, Mascarade is playing at 7:00, Saturday night. I don't need to speak any more of it, do I?

I think we're celebrating Nik's birthday at the Glockenspiel on Friday. Applications are being accepted.

LET US REJOICE! I did finally get my copy of Porcupine Tree's "Lightbulb Sun" today. I am shivering as we speak, folks. You're only hurting yourselves.

No other major nails to hammer, right now. Aside from Nate and Dan's show on Saturday, and my radio appearance on 10/01/05, I calmly wait into that following week. Keep the month an open porthole, but don't sink the ship.

OH--and Jim, fix yer comments!

check your comprehension at the door,
-Brenn

If I went wrong, then where, eh?!

A small handful of unflattering, but excellent pictures of the machine gun shoot. Ze wango, ze tango. There. I said it.

King of the mountain, a-thrive off of coming mountains I have being built. Lee, 3; World, 0. 3? The number is arbitrary. May have less finite than zero. Look down. King of mountains of nothing. Note to self: the seismic shifts have undercut every bit of it.

Look! The Evil James Johns is back in action! All zen-like, too. We all appreciate some caustic, sir. Bust out the fork.

Creak.

Stretch of time since I've posted, but aside from the machine gun shoot and poker on Saturday night, I've nothing seismic to discuss. Hopefully will be pending photos of the tank Nik, Crispy, Jeanne, and Adam were rolling about in.

The blink of an eye, and another 5-day workweek. An announcement, though, The Musical Box is finally coming to Minnesota--they are performing at the Fitzgerald on Thursday, November third. I am a circle of excitement! If you go, I would suggest avoiding the first few rows, so as to watch the whole stage. Speaking of which, I need to get back to listening to "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" over and over again in preparation.

Who is going to be at Mascarade next Saturday? You, and you, and every single last one of you.

Treading on my own ice, and well.

::shakes a stick at 'getting "into" things'::

Well, the horse goes where the whip leads it, most of the time. This last week in the cube farm has gone awfully quick--a good part of why all's tempered this way, is that I did not set foot in the office for a week, being in Bismarck.

I may have mentioned--not having read a single backpost in my life--I have a full-day appointment with the tattoo artist on 10/12. You'll all see it soonafter. Those very few of you who know, keep your cakeholes zipped! I hope it to be a faultline earth-shaking. For the meantime, I will roam on through the days, shaking my blind-man stick at dead-air. Save maybe what will be a surrealistic dream in early October through the inking date, that is. Otherwise, vacation time is up in the aero.

Rolling into autumn.

Had I not mentioned? Machine Gun Shoot this Saturday! LPMN and FSP booths, too. Can you even get into that link? If not, I will post the details.

Other news, I am slated for an interview on AM 1280 - The Patriot, on Saturday, 10/01/05, 10:00 a.m., as LPMN State Chair. Booked Corey Stern to get my back. Bound to be a great time, if I can keep my tin foil hat off for an hour.

join the leebertarian party!

Putt putt.

Bleh. Deflated again.

Something new uploaded, though--the phone pictures. '050716' and forward is new. All kids of events. Some oddities. Questions?

is this a wait?

Twenty three years ago, huh?

Jeff Hutch left me a voicemail yesterday afternoon yelling at me for not attending the class reunion that I was never invited to. Things are better this way.

Grubbed with the mom and stepdad yesterday, and birthday drinks be held at Fern's for the rest of the evening. Good attendance level and a bombastic time, despite Nate, Dan, and the Brians abstaining. Thanks for the ammo, MacKinney, and the latin text and graphic novels, Nik! Not to mention picking up the tab after some of the other guest pitch-ins. I'd better be paying, soon.

Nik's birthday is on the 23rd!

ah-hah. Take that!

Working an earlier shift tomorrow, and LPMN ExCom meeting tomorrow night. Should be a lot to be discussed--including Dave Shegstad seeking candidate endorsement. Now, though, back to looking down the barrel of a five-day workweek.

Mascarade on the calendar for the 24th? Hope to shout.

Dare I say?

I am back, terrorizing the cities. The funeral in Bismarck, though a moving time, went smoothly. I did make it out to the casino--Prairie Knights--with the old man on Wednesday night. He gave me a hundred gambling bucks for my coming birthday. On our arrival--four p.m. or so--he latched onto a three-hand poker machine in the high stakes room, and I made way for the blackjack pits. A couple ups and downs, and three or four quick shoes, I'd lost sixty bucks, and went to watch my dad bring some pain on his machine. After some time, he started handing me twenties to stick into the poker machine I was sitting in front of, a one-hand to a hundred-hand poker machine. I set it at five hands, a nickel per hand, and after about eighty that he kept sliding over to me, I had it close to three hundred dollars. Cashed out, of course--he wouldn't take the original eighty back from me, either--and waited again, until he started putting more twenties into the same machine, from his pocket. I shrugged, racked it back up to eighty, and I'd had enough. We finally made way back to Bismarck around 1:30 a.m. A great time, even when you have to get up early.

Didn't I say "the Republic cannot be saved" earlier? Peruse this and this. They're confiscating
weapons, unprovoked, out there now. Buy a gun while you still can!

Nothing else of interest to report. Kari emailed the Evil James Johns, fishing for Leeformation. Paula, MacKinney, and Jim, in that order, just as I imagined a couple months ago.

Birthday drinks at Fern's tomorrow night. And no cake--I hate cake. I think I am going to go ransack the Mascarade practice space now.

yet in absentia,

Oh noes.

The Republic cannot be saved.

Anyhow, birthday drinks on Saturday the 10th. Probably Fern's. Coming?

to the voyage, tomorrow!

Saturday, September 03, 2005

Shout at the mirror, would you.

I'll be disappearing on Monday morning for the week--my grandmother (on my father's side) passed away on Friday afternoon, and I am Bismarck-bound. Not sure if I am making the whole length by myself, yet, but I probably will. At least I have XM. Pray that the jack-booted thugs don't single me out to pay their 'road tax' again.

Tomorrow, though, a couple of State Fair shifts with MacKinney. Going to see me there? Nik also locked in a free booth for the FSP and LPMN at the 09/17 machine gun shoot in Princeton. Plenty of militiamen for the taking?

What the hell do you think I did last night? Of course I closed out Fern's. Considering doing it again, too, but MacKinney wants me to go to this Barley John's in New Brighton. I am weary. We were supposed to head to a bonfire/keg/live music shindig in Minnetonka, but oh how it rains!

On that, while we were at Fern's last night, Paula took it upon herself to call me and blather on about Kari until I cut her off. Did I ask?

Been corresponding with John Carpenter out in Monticello regarding my next tattoos. Certainly getting MDCCLXXVI up the right forearm. I am going to keep the rest of you in wait about the next one, though.

Mascarade show on Saturday, 09/24/05. Make sure your calendar is bloc!

Thanks for the whooping,

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

You've downloaded the Mascarade? I expect so.

What're tha plans for the weekend, eh? Luke is out of town, and I have a few non-worknights to kill, aside from a possible Saturday at Matt's in Minnetonka--live music, keg, bonfire. Jeebs is it far. Any notes?

Last night was reserve. Nik and I, after having met for a Jeffers meeting, went to the troop's practice space with a bottle of Jameson, and shortly after Ryan and Nate's evasion to the Dubliner, Dan, Corey, Nik, and I were rocking out. Poorly, but rocking out.
