Make a wish, jock-O!metz

What a weekend. Been a little ill since Friday--some sort of awful sinus business, keeping my throat stiff and nose on the run.

Up north was a good time--Saturday-day did quite a bit of shooting. The Kimber, my sawed-off with the pistol grip and folding stock, my Ruger Mach II .22, Luke's .40, [Luke's older brother] Roger's arsenal, etc. Luke and Roger talked Zac [Luke's younger brother] and I into going out with them on Saturday night. The first bar--the Fisherman's Wharf or something--was dead. Roger and Zac didn't want to stick around, so we went to another bar--Pier 65. People were falling out of the windows, and Zac and Roger held us up pretty late while they chased skirt. And I mean held us up. The place stopped serving at 1 a.m., and we weren't on our way home until 2:15 a.m. I had the shakes. Anyhow, a couple of people came back to the land with us, and I capped off the night with half a liter of Bushmills. Dismay. I usually would charge through that well, but I did have to dispose of a little bit of it (a few times) in the trees. One would think that this would prevent me from being hung over the next morning, but assuming as such would make one wrong...

12:20 p.m. the next day--mind you, I wanted to leave at 1:00--I was waking up and 'bout ready to die. Heck of a miserable trip back...luckily I was almost back to normal (the sinus problem still pending) by time we [Kari, MacKinney, the Evil JJ, and I] arrived at the Fine Line for the PORCUPINE TREE SHOW. It was phenomenal. These men are amazing performers. Not quite as technically extravagant as Dream Theater, but they make up for it with the most incredible atmosphere, and a lot of raw. Jeebus. I hope they are coming back later in the year on their second leg.

May have a lead on some full tracks from DT's upcoming "Octavarium". Hoping to catch Eric via AIM soon.

Slight word that Sue Jeffers--who is somewhat of a local celebrity in the Minneapolis area--owner of Stub and Herb's and aggressive opponent of the recent smoking ban, may be running for a state office with the LPMN flag next year. Wish us luck. Let us know if you're interested in helping.

Walking the streets in fear.

This probably sounds dangerous to most of you, but looking forward to a weekend of whiskey, ATV's, firearms, and campfire. Coming back on Sunday only to spend more time with the skirt before she runs to New York for a couple months, and for PORCUPINE TREE! I expect to see every single one of you there. No excuses. Huh--what's that? HAM HOCK! Drop this Tom-Foolery and get your ass down to the Fineline.

Great LP meetup tonight. Eric may be seeing this post--hope we didn't frighten you. MacKinney, Bonk and I are a little but more of the hardcore revolutionary-types, sometimes. Welcome around, and expect to see you back!

Here is a story. Chokes me up, too:
I used to have a lighter--a little bronze piece, with an eagle emblem on the side of it. Pressure butane. I think I got it from a cousin. Anyhow, it ended up missing when I was fifteen or so, and I had forgotten about it, until my mom handed it over (in its original little leather case) two Fridays ago, when Kari and I were out there for haircuts. I stuck it in Kari's purse for passage back to the cities, and it remained. Later in the week, I made my way for Bismarck on Thursday--and she, NYC. I drove. She took a plane. You can imagine the rest from here.
They ran her purse through the X-ray at the Soviet-like security checkpoint, and--nevermind the fingernail devices, and the plastic BIC FULL of lighter fluid, all in her purse--they spotted the bronze lighter that had been butane-free for five years. The silly storage/shipping office was closed, and Kari was in tears as they insisted that she either had to cancel her flight, or forefit the contraband to the drooling, undereducated TSA thugs. One of who probably is using my cousin-given bronze butane lighter, right now.

God bless the USA.

Please help us.

M-U-C-K in the U-S-A!

I made it back alive. Bigger post later this week, hopefully. The skirt comes home tomorrow.

I got waylaid by a fascist five miles out of St Cloud on the way there. I have been sentenced to a day of slave labor for doing 80 in a 70 on a clear day. If I didn't make as much as I do, I suppose it could have been a couple days of slave labor. He claims he swore to defend and uphold the Constitution. Yet, as the soldier approached the back of my car, I looked into: "hey...I have a four day weekend...do I want to get pistol-whipped today and really win this in the end?" Sad that those are our choices. LP!

Wheaties-bound.

Got to smoke in a Minneapolis bar tonight. I guess it was legal because I was on stage with Tim Slagle. Thanks for the comps, MacKinney! You hairy son-of-a-bitch. His personal press release below my post.

Got the kinks in the car hammered out, and Bismarck-bound tomorrow morning. Pray for me over the weekend, eh? Back on Sunday, in time for Adult Swim. Ah, sweet sweet fleischkuekle. Grawr!

Looking to seat someone as Chair of the Database Management subcommittee for the LPMN. Interested? No? Tiddlywinks.

Loo loo loo I got some apples, loo loo loo you got some too. Loo loo loo lets make some apple sauce, take off our clothes and loo loo loo.

You all have yourselves a damn fine weekend. I am going to make like a priest and get the hell out.

fleischkuekle,

***PERSONAL PRESS RELEASE FROM JEREMY MACKINNEY***
I went and saw Tim Slagle perform with several partners in crime tonight. It
was the night for the monthly Free State Project meetup and we decided to
meet there instead to cheer on a small l'er. He peformed much of his usual
material, with some variations including a blatent breaking of the City of
Minneapolis and Hennepin County ordinance forbidding the naughty smoking in
workplaces.

In an act of defiant disregard for the safety of the audience, staff and
others in the building, Tim Slagle did light and smoke not one, but TWO
cigars and proceed to burn them throughout his performance.

Placing even more lives in jeopardy, he invited people from the audience to
come up to the stage and disobey the ordinance. At first, only our State
Chair, Lee R Brennise came forward to endanger others with his pollution.
Then, in the fashion of a good old-fashioned altar-call, other proceeded to
stream towards the stage, igniting their contraband on the way. Soon the
stage was full of criminals breaking the law, with no regard for the safety
of others.

In short, it was great :)

Jeremy MacKinney

Zing!

Long time, no post.

MPPA is heating up, it seems. Thank god they removed the fingerprinting amendment. Though having to get a permit implies that I need permission, I resign that it is better than getting a gross misdemeanor, for the moment.

Spent most of the weekend with the Kari, and with the troop. Finally got my hair cut on Friday. No more three-dee sideburns, sorry to say. Saturday held poker, and a very small handful of pictures, care of MacKinney. To Bill's Gun Range with MacKinney and the Evil James Johns for Sunday...probably went through eighty bucks worth of ammo. If you haven't fired anything bigger than a .22, you need to get on that, and how. I love my Kimber more by the day.

TWO DAY WORKWEEK! Probably going to see the almightly Slagle at the Acme Comedy on Wednesday night with the Free-Staters. Getting the damned transmission flushed and pan dropped before the voyage on Thursday, for a long, four-day weekend in Bismarck.

Only major event on the LPMN horizon is the State Fair. Things have been busy with the slew of database emails and squaring up debts. We need a volunteer movement, soon. Come an' help! Tell them I sent ya.

t3h PORCUPINE TREE is a week from this coming Sunday! 05/29/05! Get those tickets, I say!

I'm waiting,

Hump Day

Finally got my Sega Saturn controller in yesterday. Going to be starting at Shining Force III again very very soon. Excitement.

Busy weekend ahead. Getting a haircut on Friday, poker Saturday night, Bill's Gun Range on Sunday. Bang, bang! Heading to Bismarck next Thursday--four day weekend with the old man's side of the family. Leaving my car with my godparents in Fargo, meeting up with my sister, and riding with her the rest of the way.

a message from MacKinney:
leehatesjeremymackinney : Christopher's girlfriend was over the other day
leehatesjeremymackinney : Rexy had his.357 sitting on his desk in the pocket holster
leehatesjeremymackinney : She saw it and asked, "Is that a gun?"
leehatesjeremymackinney : he reached behind him and displayed the .500 and said, "No, THIS is a gun!"

Up north with Luke, his brothers, and father Memorial Day weekend. WHEEE!

don't stop 'til you get enough,

...buffering...

Happy Mother's Day!

Heck of a late post following a heck of a week. Monday through Wednesday, a blue; a few LPMN meetings, bought a ten ounce bar of silver, can't remember much else.

Met up with the old man for a bite to eat on Thursday, then Luke, his older brother Roger, and I closed out Grumpy's in Coon Rapids. Luke and I had to pass out in his parents' basement--took a nap from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m., headed back to St Paul, and I got in another hour nap before I had to get ready for work. Barbecued at MacKinney's Friday night, and sat at J's for a length of time on Saturday.

J's Restaurant is now serving BEER! BEER at J's (even if it is 3.2)! This is awfully monumental, considering I spent the better part of my teenage years rotting away in a booth there. See...what do I have on my FTP? John at J's, Dan at J's, Crosslander at J's, old one of me at J's. I have many more, but nobody cares if I upload them as little as I want to upload them.

Got started on Ed Contoski's "The Trojan Project". I don't have too-high expectations for it, but I will keep everyone updated. I am excited for Claire Wolf's "Out of the Grey Zone".

New Family Guy tonight, leading into Adult Swim. I'd better do what I can before eight.

LPMN ExCom meeting tomorrow night at 7:45 p.m. Be if you can, be.

Like, woah!

Snow ruined the music of Freedom Day, but that did not defeat the music of the cannons. Firing a cannon is an experience like that of none other. Photo footage. Trevor's new Kimber, too. Welcome to the 1911 club, duder.

Friday night featured The Evil James Johns and Mastermind MacKinney. No pictoral footage of this, but Jim was largely outnumbered in ideological debate. Saturday, though, Luke in absentia, we played poker without, until around 2:30 a.m., and Monopoly until around 6.

MPPA, fingerprinting?! Hogwash. Hamhock. I don't need no stinking permit.

Got the last DTIFC disc today, "A Sort of Homecoming". Tears are welling up.

Liberty Center night tomorrow, and Freedom Movie of the Month/Volunteer Meeting on Wednesday. Go me.
