ahem ahem
I expect to see all of you at Freedom Day this coming Sunday. Four live bands and three live cannons. State Capitol in St Paul, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Just pre-ordered Porcupine Tree's "Deadwing"--the two disc, 76-page LE. I am VERY worked up about their show at the Fineline on May 29th. From what I have heard of, and about, this new disc, I will be shitting about it all next week.
New artwork for Dream Theater's "Octavarium" has been released. 06/07/05, come soon.
And would you look at that, eh? The Ministry of Truth is setting up a little Youth League Spies program. What more could I want? What more?

More!
Been buying silver lately. Federal Reserve Notes creep me out more and more. Hopefully I will have my car and remaining credit card debt paid off before the layoff monster rears its ugly head at the T. If then, I am thinking about selling the majority of my assets, buying market-rate gold and silver, packing my books and heading to the Free State with Kari. How many more straws, eh?
MacKinney and I went to a luncheon celebrating the opening of the Minnesota Chapter of the Institute for Justice this afternoon at the Minneapolis Club. Very, VERY impressive venue, and good people. Hopefully they will help bring about a great deal of change. Funny part--the present LPMN members all managed to be congregated at a single table. It was a good time.
I want all of you to visit Jeremy MacKinney's office at the Campbell Mithun tower in downtown Minneapolis. Hell of place, it is. I'd jump on board if a paycut weren't involved.
LPMN meetup tomorrow--make it if you can!
Can can,

Avast!
In a short bit Corey and I are headed out the to U of M for a Democracy Matters concert--they've given the LPMN a table. I am not sure how it'll blow over, but I wouldn't be surprised if we get into it with some populists about direct democracy versus a rights-protecting constitutional republic. I hate democracy. :p
"40,000 people die every year from the exhaust fumes expelled from this bus."
Jeremy sent me poker pictures from last Saturday. Very entertaining. He got a lot of me in there--I was a mess towards the end. Was losing, too, and he managed to capture some 'excellent' expressions. Chopsy awake, Chopsy asleep, Chopsy awake, Chopsy asleep.
Kari and I need to come up with something to do tonight. Hopefully I can find people to come out to lowertown to drink here at the apartment, or some lowertown bars.

Shaking a stick at authority.
There is LNC mutiny a-bound! ::hush::
To my surprise, I've been defeated; couldn't pull off getting the position at work that I was seeking. Now I stare down the barrel of the 10:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m. --the graveyard shift--for another few months to indefinite. Like an ass, I will have to keep the LPMN ExCom meetings at 7:45. I am chest-deep in nihil with my paid job...there aren't any new functions or systems to learn, no new challenges...the Escalation Team is more exciting than being on 'the floor', but like all beings with the "Will To Power", after time, it is like shoveling shit.
Empathetic pat on the back for Nate--he and Kat are on hiatus. They had been dating almost as long as Kari and I have. Hard to imagine dealing more often than people like Nate and I already have. Hope it smoothes like metamucil.
Today's noforce.org post from Bob Smith embodies the Ministry of Truth perfectly. Read.

Listen to as many of them as you can handle. These very real voicemails were left at the Liberty Center. Corey went to the length of recording them and laying them out for us. Incredible...incredible.

yarrrrg!
Been a time with the skirt, LPMN business, and work. Looking forward to Freedom Day--I hope you all have it marked on your calendars! And sign up for email updates or the Yahoo discussion groups.
Wanted to go to Porc Fest, but Luke and I may be moving that weekend, as well as Corey and Rachel's wedding. Either way, the last weekend of July will be eventful.
Saturday's poker, always a hell of a good time. Maybe MacKinney will be more successful in sending me the photos this time.
The LPMN got a mention from Badnarik. He had a heck of a time at our Convention, but took a crack at my meeting order at the ExCom on 04/11/05. ;) I figure, as long as there are few tangents and few interruptions, it works.
time!

Are you finished?
Just spent a good chunk of the afternoon writing LPMN emails and letters. Refreshing to have it all done. One of the last things I have to do is write a Party Strategy for the ExCom to adopt--I am sure it will cause a great deal of discussion at the next meeting. I am certain that Bob Smith, Bob Odden, and myself will be at great odds.
Bought a gavel for us, though. No gavel, no committee.
Poker tonight. The volcano rumbles.

For those of you who do not know:
TAX DAY PROTEST, 04/15/05. 5:00-6:30 p.m. (or so) at the USPS HQ, on 1st St in downtown Minneapolis--just south of the river.
FREEDOM DAY. If you should be at anything, you should be at this. This is NOT an LP event--it is a State holiday. St Paul Capital grounds, Sunday, 05/01/05, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Live music and live cannons--one of which I think I may be firing. Let me know if you need more detail.
A VERY excellent interview with Mr. Vin Suprynowicz. Though I would not say that his LPMN Con speech was the best out of our speakers, he was definitely my favorite person here for the weekend. I am not sure if I have recently been as excited as I was while seeing him and Badnarik butting heads over Eminent Domain versus the text of the Constitution. Read The Black Arrow, if you can stomach a revolution. Just so happens that Vin managed to be the last speaker standing at Great Waters on Saturday night, with what was left of us hardcore young'ins. I admire his always soft-spoken tone...it reeks of insightfulness. My weekend reeked of LIBERTY.

Apologies!
Sorry for the late posting, but I have been Corey Stern-deep in LPMN business. The Convention and newfound Chair-dom.
Pictures, of the Convention and the Great Waters Brewery afterparty.
Friday was Convention prep--huge thanks to Bonk, Dustin Doyle, Jamie, and the monster we know as Corey Stern. Later in the sweaty day, in my apartment, Jamie & Rex, Dustin, Bonk, Vin Suprynowicz, Badnarik, MacKinney and I engaged in interesting idle chat in my apartment. Nothing is more humbling to me than seeing Badnarik lounging in a bean-bag chair in front of my entertainment center. Friday closed with a group dinner, and respective beds.
Saturday--the Convention--ran without hitch, thanks to Corey (always) & Rachel, Rex & Jamie, Bonk, Kari, and myself. Trevor (I expect you all to be at Freedom Day) emceed, and well. When Bovard showed up, the first thing he asked for was a microbrewery. Hence, the Great Waters Brewery afterparty, with Amanda Phillips, James Bovard, Badnarik, Vin, and a small handful of volunteers--drinking and having a grand libertopian time out on the patio, St Peter and 7th Place, as included in the pictures.
Amanda Phillips, of the Free State Project, gave us a huge plug on the FSP posting. "...probably the best state LP I've had the pleasure of visiting." Honored!
Sunday was Badnarik's Constitution course. Haven't seen it?! Buy the book. 12-hour DVD coming soon!
MacKinney and I went through a few hundred rounds of what is now Bill's Gun Shop, and then my first ExCom meeting as chair--it was butter. Dropped Mike off at the airport this morning. I can claim a damn good four days.
Maybe a more comprehensible post tomorrow.

Tick, tock, Mr. Brenn.
Nothing too new to report. Still have a lot of LPMN Convention things behind and before me and the rest of the Convention Committee. Sign up soon. Also, Badnarik is giving his Constitution Course on Sunday, 04/10/05--knowledge and experience that nobody should live without.
Pending pictures of Saturday's poker from MacKinney. Nothing too eventful, but always a heck of a time. Chopsy managed to hold quality poker awareness through all of his gambling funds. Rock!
Quite a week ahead with Convention prep, the pinnacle being Saturday. Wish luck, and let me know if you're interested.
I wish YTMND were working. Endless fun.

Let it begin!
Sorry to you pope JP2 fans out there.
Places you can still smoke in St Paul. Yay: Alary's, Hat Trick, 4th Street Station, and, *hush*, The Lamplighter. Hopefully the AQ will get their butts in gear for an exemption.
Look at what I just bought for fifty bucks. It serves as a warm place in my heart, as these little guys were how I started smoking (on a regular basis) back when I was a wee ten-and-five. After choking down crap cigars with Brother Hutch behind the Able Park warming house two or three days a week, I upgraded, and went through a ten pack of Capones every few days. Ask Maria or John.
Poker tonight! Starring: Vegas Pelowski, MacKinney, Chopsy, Drunk Andy, Deuce-Kid Malmberg, and Sally Special Brenn.
