New Years...yes.

It totally escaped me when I posted last night--leave me an AIM if you're interested in attending Clint and Will's Apartment Complex New Year's Party on Friday night. hadesraze

The Revenge of the Liberty Monster

By way of a tax mention Hillary made, I checked my upcoming paystub at work and found that I have paid over $12,000.00 in taxes this year. $12K out of $41K in gross income...this hammers to close of a third. That means I am working for the government for about two hours and forty five minutes each and every day. I have known this since I have been working full time, but if you didn't, now you do.

Uploaded 12/22-today's phonecam pictures. Featuring, but not limited to, my handgun, Kari, and Kari's birthday cake (sssh...don't let her know until after Friday).

By order of Brenn, please pay tribute to the Evil James Johns, Hannah, Jacq, Andrea, and Kelly. Do NOT, under any circumstances, visit Chad Perkins, the CITY MONSTER.

And, off topic, John Wriesner told me the other day that he is going to find me a knee-length tee-shirt that reads: "I supported Aaron Burr's ill-fated bid for presidency and all I was compensated with was this tunic of poor quality." I was laughing so hard it couldn't be out loud.

The Evil James Johns is probably drugged up right now...

...but for medical purposes.

Picked up Sandbox...The Music of Mark Sandman at Let It Be this afternoon. I didn't think I would appreciate his non-Morphine music as much, but it is amazing yet simple stuff. By the dee-vee-dee, though, he certainly was a quiet, awkward guy. Let me know if you need any Morphine tracks.

There is finally an appeals hearing on 01/13/05 to request an overruling of an earlier judge's decision to strike down Minnesota's Personal Protection Act from 2004. If the overturning of the judge's decision doesn't happen, Minnesota will be in legal Armageddon. The main grounds for the overturning of the original act from 2003 was on the terms of a provision in the Minnesota State Constitution which states that an omnibus bill cannot be passed unless all the items in the bill are directly related.

If the appeal fails and the judge's decision is sustained, there will be a mad mad torrent of overturning tax laws. Maybe the IJ and their "merry band of litigators" will help when their Minnesota chapter opens. It is a win-win situation. ;D Either way, I should have gotten my foot in the permit door while I could have.

rat-a-tat tat

Merry Christmas, I suppose. I woke up at 1 p.m. to sit around all day, in reading 1984 and watching the fifth hour of Badnarik's constitution course. By time I got any ants and ambition to get out of here, it was already nine. I headed over to Luke's parents', mowed down on leftovers, BS'ed, and committed bloody bloody murder in a few rounds of Perfect Dark.

Kari'll be around tomorrow afternoon, and the mother, stepfather, and sister will be over sometime in the evening. I was shitting myself for some Leonardo's for the event, but they won't be open. Great Waters Brewery, beware.

Dull, dull, dulldull. Thank you, Mark Sandman. "Kabrula kaysay Brula Amal amala senda Kumahn Brendhaa"

my kitchen usually smells like whiskey

Cha'Perkins called me from work--I guess we took down a handful of circuits (probably T1's) of an AOL subsidiary, and there is a huge escalation afloat. The group that usually suspends and restores circuits is part of a different center--who didn't have to come into work today, and there there are only four people in our center who are trained, and have the system access, to do it (but none of them are there, either). Perkins called me to fill me in, and I told him that it would have to be a good chunk of overtime if management were to buckle down and ask me to come in. Enthralling, huh?

Kari, LPMN meetings, and Liberty Center duty have bveen occupying my week, but I have nothing to do in the way of plans, today. Finally started reading 1984.

Interesting debate with Perkins the other day, too. I had to pull out my Bastiat logic:
Human law exists to protect one's own life and property. Community law came to be in effort for a group to band together to protect each others' lives and property. When Law enacted by a group or organization gets to the point which it currently is, then be definition an injustice has taken place; consider this--in the nature of true law, in any situation where the law allows a group to act or react in a nature in which an individual cannot, then this injustice is rampant.

Huh.

Colder...colder...

Big Daddy Christmas and his scythe may be casting their shadow on us, but I have a three-day workweek. Been spending my workdays working, and a handful of minutes out of the off-time arguing with Supermom Chipotle Cha'Perkins. There is even a bit of back-and-forth on his site's comments.

"My opponent is a flip-floppin' terrist."
"I would have invaaaaded Iraq diffferrrenly."

After my other sister, Kim, who is in town from KC, was a little too wiped and worn to come by on Sunday, Kari and I took a call-to-arms from Nate, Dan, and Ryan for a film showing at Block E--"What the Bleep Do We Know?" They had heard it as a quantum physics documentary (excitement!) and we ended up attending off of this thirdhand information. The movie started with basic particle physics theories based on particles existing in two points at the same time, and the mystery that some particles appear to randomly exist and then cease to be matter. After the first half hour, though, the movie turned into something of neurobiology and even delved into what I took to be Dianetics. Damned Scientologists. :( **late edit: what I saw wasn't Scientology, but it was still a damned cult movie.***

Been on the rock out with Sacred Ground (beef) lately to keep myself distracted from The pAper chAse. I am ecstatic that they're back together. Even looking for a vocalist, now. Hoorah for our premiere local prog rock band. "Seven actors pretend to live in a house. OOH the conflict."

Waiting for the psychic wars.

New pictures posted from the camera phone. The few very low-qual work-party ones are from my 4x zoom. ;) Someday I will have a massive collection of photos of Mark, my manager, flipping me off.

Kari is stuck eating with the parents and grandparents right now, and the Evil James Johns is en route. I am certain there will be a battle of epic proprtions to be fought with beer and whiskey. I, of course, can't lose--I will unleash the Trois Pistoles and Fin De Monde.

I'd like to welcome my sister Jill to my readership! Not much of my family is in on my personal life of youthful excess and angry Libertarianism, but she just happened to Goggle my name. ;)

NOW--I am going to go listen to some Bauhaus in order to kill time 'til Jim arrives. READ JACQ!

"I'm the cudgel sort!"

Luke told me I would post about this. As I said, I ate the new DEATHBURGER, and I lived to tell.

I have still been struggling to find songs by the pAper chAse.

Now, here is Illinois trying to impose fines on establishments of video game retail who sell "M" rated video games to kids under eighteen. Our society steps away from responsible parenthood in favor of a nanny state. More and more like the society depcted in Anthem.

New liquor store opened up down here in lowertown, and they carry La Fin De Monde and Trois Pistoles! Me and he, pictures one, two, three, and four. If I were any more excited I'd have epilepsy.

Batman's in the kitchen...

The software on my new i860 fried yesterday. Dropped by the downtown Service Center and the guy put me on the Service Plan and replaced it for free within minutes. I lost the photos I had taken, and a few files I downloaded, but at least it was made up for in good service. Speaking of Nextel...not sure if I am looking forward to the completion of Sprint Nextel at all.

Nothing else too dern exciting going on, actually. I've concluded that I am going to take a nomination for LPMN State Chair, but will withdraw it if any of a few specific, regular volunteers I know in the party decide to make a run at it. It will make for an exciting two years, if it happens.

Waiting for my old best friend, Josh Carmean, to call to see if he decided to come out to St Paul for the coming weekend. That'd be a heck of a party.

the four ponies of the apoc

Someone suggested towards me being the LPMN State Chair again this evening. I would love to do it, but don't have the kind of time or flex that I would want to put into it. It looks like there is little to no interest for nominees, and there are a few people who I would stand aside for in a second, but what do you think? Leave them comments!

It's confirmed that we have one of the best speaker lists in the country, State Convention-wise, this year. In addition, Badnark will be presenting his course the day after the convention; on Sunday, 04/10/05. Wisen up the green and keep your calendars clear, everyone.

One of the ten Minnesota electors cast his vote to Ewards for President. Nobody knows if it was intent or accident, but hilarious, nonetheless.

The Evil James Johns is Joisey-bound again. Leave him comments and tell him to bring me back a damned AT&T HQ shotglass this time.

t3h lame

Well, everybody either didn't show up, sallied out, or had an excuse for not making it to poker last night. Luke and I ended up going to Rossi's in Minneapolis for a couple salads, and as they close at 1 a.m., we grabbed a drink at Zelo afterward. Odd sighting, too, was an old man, probably seventies, with a couple of very attractive young women with him--one for each arm. I should have asked how much it was for a round of that.

I also heard hilarious news that Luke claims he'd told me before--I guess he pissed himself in the parking lot on the way home from Will's Steak Knife show awhile back. ;) Couldn't stand waiting another four minutes? Copacetic!

poker Saturday

It's the poker weekend, again! Not quite certain what is going to happen yet, though, as Reg never called (and now his away message reads "out of town"). Waiting for callbacks from Will, Clint, Corey Wop Dago, and the Wries. Seems to often make its way to this. I just suppose I will need people to bar with if nothing ends up happening--for this I call Nate and Dan. ;) It is like a flow chart.

I've got soverign immunity.

I have been trying to post all night, but been hosed up on the make-a-post button. Find it and stick it.

Been like a cold fetus seeking a warm frame all night. Used almost all of my Windsor in the cookies I made for all of my cookie-swap participating co-workers last night, and exhausted the reserves of my pricey single-malt scotches tonight in effort to be drunk. This evening's semi-sobriety is like a stop-frame nightmare with minute pauses at the most horrific; neck-deep in what reality may be like when you're here in still mind. Debauchery and forward! ::waves cutlass:: --from tomorrow night and in.

Hang on Saint Christopher...

Been scrounging for tracks by The Paper Chase all week...not much luck. Probably won't be ordering any of their discs until after the new year.

Work has been sick sick sick...a conversation from today, 12/08/04:
"yes...one of my four business lines are down. I paid on 11/29."
"I see that. It looks like the order to suspend your local service was issued on 11/29, too."
"Well, when will [the number] be back up again?"
"Unfortunately I can't give you that answer. The question right now is: when will the other three be down?"
You can imagine what happened after that. What a time I have!

Quit fooling yourself, Jim. You don't have any friends. :)

Meanwhile, though I can't uproot myself financially, I await the libertation of Grafton, NH. I intend to visit as soon as the FST accomplishes their goal. Juicy, junior.

I sometimes seem almost competent.

Well, now that my quest has ended, I will hopefully be updating this page, featuring low-quality pictures taken from my camera phone. You're all defecating with excitement, aren't you?!

Well, Badnarik will be coming to the LPMN 2005 State Convention...we're just not sure what the speaking terms are, yet. However; he will be doing his famed eight-hour course on the Constitution on Sunday, 04/10/05. I am not sure about the pricing, but my guess is that it will be $100.00/head, including a copy of his recently published book. It is a hell of an experience.

I drank for you on Saturday. Now, you drink for me.

eh...let the Jeebus deal with it.

A truth about the office.

I am lodged into DeLillo's "White Noise" in the recent, and today I looked over at a few of Kelly's recent posts, and I find it eerie that she's never read DeLillo.

Kari will be over tonight, and Jim (the eeeevil James Johns) and Hillary may be dropping by. I am certainly glad Jim didn't say the "double-d" word. Two-couple events are always something that you want to avoid acknowledging. I find myself wondering if there is some cosmic contract that requires a swap, or that we have to break into a hoe-down. "Look what you got yerself into, Brenn, you're going to have to get tanked, now."

Getting tanked for all of us,

The Late Post, with Lee Brenn

Well...I got myself an i860, which will do nothing but further my cause in my conquest against the evil James Johns' assets. ;) I just need someone to buy me a spy car.

Now I just need to find the i860/iDen software. Perkins is finding me Parker Lewis Can't Lose, so my life may soon be complete. Muah-hah-hah.

Short, drunken posts suck.
