put him in bed with the captain's daughter

John, who does *not* work with me, keeps insisting that I wear a powdered wig, carry a sword-cane, and issue edicts around the office at work. He knows me after all, doesn't he?

[[
In a videotape that aired today, Osama bin Laden's right-hand man pledged to continue fighting the United States until it changes its policies regarding Muslims. "You can elect Bush, Kerry or Satan himself, it doesn't matter to us," Ayman al-Zawahiri said in a tape broadcast by the Arabic-language Al-Jazeera television network. "What's important to us is the U.S. policies toward Muslims."]]
Non-intervention will happen someday. Someday...for hope, an old dig from Rep. Paul. The man never stops, thank all.

Meanwhile, I am anticipating the new Spock's Beard album, Octane (01/31/05). Abandon sensationalism and get in on some neoprog!

another weekend smoked

Quite the weekend it was, too. I don't want to get into the gory details (IM me if you're really concerned), but for a short example, poker night got out of hand, as depicted in this photographic evidence. Be forwarned about the "bad idea" pictures--may be a touch explicit. We should sell tickets for admittance.

If any of my few readers know where I can get my hands on episodes from Parker Lewis Can't Lose, especially the 1st and 2nd seasons, please let me know. This is of dire importance.

Please--get loaded up on Badnarik's book and his class. Educate yourself of freedom being robbed.

all bethanks

So what would things be like if the Pilgrims and Native Americans had decided to eat a human in celebratrion, eh?

Anyhow, as I stated at work, I am thankful for Reser's Baja Cafe Red Hot Beef frozen burritos. Oven-cooked at 350 degrees for thirty minutes. Avoid microwaves--they will kill you.

In all seriousness, thankful for the Brennise/Pelletier I have left, Luke, Kari, "Nate & Dan and the Gang", our Poker Crew (especially Reg and Clint--big poker night tomorrow), the few co-workers I have that I don't hate, everybody I talk to online frequently (Mike, Eric, Angela, Andrea, Anna, Jess, Bonnie, Jessica, Hannah, Jacq, Della--you'd all better be reading this), Will and his music, the Libertarian Party of Minnesota--where I can be with like-minded individuals who I know for fact are willing to fight alongside me for their and my liberties. Oh--big thanks to AT&T--those paychecks rock. I am thankful that cocaine is very expensive, too, and that I can't get coke with my good looks like Angie can. ;)

I would also like to thank lords Dalmore, Windsor, Johnnie Walker, and my bar-buddy, rob roy.

I probably missed some people--apologies to some of you, and sorry that you're not important enough to make it here to the rest. Either I don't like you, or you don't talk to me often enough.

We need more "Ron Paul"s

Please do take the time to read the speech rendered by the honorable Rep. Paul before the House of Representatives. The man may be a right-leaning Libertarian, but far far more Libertarian than any other member of Congress. They call him "Congressman NO".

In fact, why don't you make sure to read this, too. I know public schools nowadays just teach you the preamble and a few amendments from the BoR.

I sit at the door of a four-day weekend.

cover-up?

Tell me...what do *you* think hit the Pentagon on 09/11/01?

Aside from a small dinner with Kari and her mom on Thanksgiving, and poker on Saturday, no plans for the four-day weekend. Er, maybe I do have plans--when am I not sitting around and drinking? I'll hopefully recall to use my camera for some new poker pictures.

Does Jim have today off, too?! I am going to have to cuss at him. But he is right, today *is* payday. This just may be a week in which I haven't spent it already.

the fall of Ramsey/Hennepin county

My head almost exploded during a one-way disquisition on the smoking ban looming over the horizon. 03/31/05...counting down. My co-worker Hillary indicated that she may be supporting it, until I referenced her beloved shisha bar she frequents so often. A place that exists for smoking *alone*...crushed. A small handful of bigoted, fascist, county commissioners directing the rights of small business owners' well-being and choice.

Why don't we license or ban alcohol consumption, or sex? Why can we walk down the street at midnight? That could be *dangerous*--why doesn't the State stop this madness?! I think we should all be tied into strait jackets, have helmets strapped to our heads, and be put into mattress-walled rooms for all of our well-being. Hail to the proletariat! But wait--the number one cause of death in the U.S. and the world today--birth. We could substantially lower our death toll by not allowing, or severely restricting birth. That's the ticket, yea.

Where the hell do we draw the line?

back, like the atom bomb

I've returned to the Twin Cities! I assume you're all bustling with excitement, eh? I wish I had a picture from the Bismarck Trib of the procession, as all of Gary's car-club pals brought their classics out. Here, though, is the obit. I regret the circumstances in which I visited them for, but it was good to see that half of the family again. Did you know you can play blackjack in ND bars? What shit. I did get to mow down some Big Boy pizza burgers flying style, in addition to being reunited with one of my favorite foods, fleischkuekle (what heaven).

I see that Jim sat around taking naps and going to bed early. Maybe we should start looking for a nursing home. Good to be back, though--missed Kari, Luke, whiskey (don't drink around the old man), work, Libertarians, and of course, sitting here.

Back to work tomorrow, for another grueling three-day workweek. ;)

comment

Regarding JG's post on chadperkins.com I submit:
Cha'Perkins can be just as much as a spin doctor as the Politicos that argue for and against the current "war" we have to deal with now. Thank you for a solidified, completely "in context" statement, cat.

Lee in the Sky

Bismarck, ho! Headed out direct from Minneapolis, MN to Bismarck, ND tomorrow for the funeral and weekend. Wish you all the best, of course, while I am gone. I may miss posting.

LPMN meeting tonight to plan the 2005 State Convention. We need to be careful to hold it at a private venue this year. Focusing more on local and non-partisan candidacy on the coming odd election year. Looking for speakers, too...preferrably ones we do not have to pay. Ugh.

Jim ponied up his 10 notes for the 10 ALDs today. I will accept your apology yet again, cap'n, but I am keeping score. It's on. No, it is. Really.
I beg you all to listen to alot of Tom Waits and Will Tolle through the weekend.

dead uncle, unsupported bet.

Jim failed to provide me with his ten Federal Reserve Notes in order for me me to purchase the full twenty American Liberty Dollars required for our bet. :) I had to write a short apology to the LPMN chair, but he won't care. Important fact is I have my 10 ALD note in-hand.

My only uncle on my old man's side died this afternoon. I do not know how he died, yet, though they found him in the family body shop in Bismark. Gary always came across as a quiet, grouchy man, but was always terribly friendly, interesting, and caring when you got to talking to him. His wife, Sharon, on the other hand, will sit and talk to you until daylight whenever you drop by...all of those nights sitting at the breakfast bar in their house with her on the kitchen side, offering varying home-cooked food items, coffee, and Coke. She works for a suicide hotline--makes sense. I feel awful for her position more than anyone else in the world, right now.

Too, I feel like an awful son-of-a-bitch finding my biggest dillemma--my sister wants me to take five funeral "entitled" paid workdays off to head to Bismark from 11/18 through 11/25. I am not one to put any price-on, but five days is outright unethical to me, atop of me not wanting to be out of the Twin Cities for a whole week for what will be a funeral event. I love her, but I am going to have to break it to her, regardless.

Tread softly, all.

Crowd movement, sweat, and vomit.

I would have posted after the Muse show last night, but between the shower in which I was in desperate need for, Kari being over, needing to eat, and pass out soonafter there were no circumstances. The Muse show was excellent--I wish I hadn't been drunk before I got into the Quest as I had two rob roys down at Rossi's beforehand (everybody should do this every day). Firing off two beers as soon as I got in with Nate and Dan probably didn't assist sobriety, either. Half a dozen songs into Muse's set, I charged for the pits (Nate and Dan sat in back and kept their eyes on the show)--only one small pit--the first twelve rows of people was all shoulder-to-chest crowd movement, and, as the title, it smelled of sweat and vomit. I tried to make it to the front in hopes of getting pushed over the rail and escorted back to the side of the venue by security, and I made it into the third row of bodies, but there was *no way* I was going to puncture the next two. 'Lo, after 25-35 minutes of being in this pool of sweat and bodies, I made my way back out.

Weekday fun! I am off to the race.

I am a smear of a man

As always, I outdid it at last night's party. It was well into daylight when Reg dropped me off. I don't think he and I drank the whole case of High Life by ourselves, but I took down a few slices of Dan's Jameson (who mysteriously disappeared at some point) and Andy's rum on top of it. I am a remnant, today. Some highlights: Jeff and Matt showed up (that had been awhile), my wop Corey kept his second commitment *ever* by making an appearance, Hillary ditched out her friends to come back to the party after having wrongfully left it the first time, and, by golly, Will played a few songs. We were scorned by: Jim, Supermom, Crossland, and Bonnie. Everybody salute them. Kari had an excuse. :)

See the artist's rendition.

Tell me about the fucking golf shoes!

Jim (who frequently comments on my site) and I are engaged in a new long-term bet. After a long discussion on the value of college versus the potential (and low-cost) of independent study and learning, we deicided to stack one another's asset versus liability. Jim is 28, I am 22. We're taking inventory of his net worth today, and will compare it to my net worth when I turn 28. The winner will be awarded 10 American Liberty Dollars. Where he does have the advantage of not having children or being married (as it's possible that I may within six years), he does have a BA, but also happens to be my co-worker (less my in-charge pay, that is). If I've got a house in two years, I think my equity by 2010 will crush him by itself.

Good luck, pally. ;) Here is to being a mover and shaker.

"if not today if not tomorrow then some other day"

wow....Jim found a REAL GEM! Help us find Hopkin!

Unusually inspired by work today. Most of you probably find this sick. I've been deep into a crazy customer fraud issue all week--just as everything was getting dull, too. :D I guess I may have been a little off the cuff for awhile as I directly assaulted the work ethic of a couple of my neighboring co-workers. My driver's licence should say "asshole" underneath "corrective lenses".

EVENTS

criminals...we're all damned criminals.

Clint and Will moved into apartments in a six-unit building recently. Two other units are occupied by Candice and Trish, and the fifth by a friend of theirs. Landlord resides in the sixth, but he is being kicked out for the weekend. APARTMENT COMPLEX PARTY ON SATURDAY, 11/13/04!

MUSE at the Quest, 11/15/04. If you haven't listened to them, why the hell not?! This show was at 1st Ave, but you locals know well that bankruptcy was filed and the joint closed. Thank heavens this show was relocated.

Tears for Fearsw/NDV 11/09/04

I was streamrolled at the show last night. I honestly say I thought I was going to walk into a show to find a bunch of washed-up musicians (despite their new album being good) with Nick D'Virgilio's always-perfect drumming and backup, but the show exceeded expectations to call it the least.

Tears for Fears

They played half old/half new, which was perfect considering I was familiar with the new disc. Orzabal and Smith were right on it for their 80's tracks. If you're interested in hearing any of the newer tracks, try to find "The Devil" or "Who Killed Tangerine". Functioned very well with their own instruments live, too--I even saw Curt Smith pulling off a few awfully fast bass scales to fill the old cheesy synth solo towards the end of "Change".

Muse at the Quest on Monday, 11/15/04, too.

Alot of you probably don't get this or care, but wow. ;)

*wah-wah* electoral college

If you know anything about me, it is that I come another inch closer to snapping every time someone mentions the abolotion of the electoral college in favor of going the way of the 'popular vote'. On the same side, I am sick of politicians referring to the United States as a democracy as opposed to the constitutional republic it is. Please spare your comments (not questions) regarding anything I have mentioned above--you will more than likely be waived off as an authoritarian/statist/populist. Liberty cannot exist when the majority of the citizenship rules. http://www.house.gov/Constitution/Constitution.html Article II, Section 1, Clause 2. ;)

One thing I do ask, though, for those who have considered (and for those who should), changing the current winner-take-all predicament we have in place (state-by-state, save NE and ME), do you prefer splitting the vote by congressional district and awarding the senate electorates to the plurality, or splitting all of the votes proportionally to the entire state's percentage? I may be splitting idealistic hairs, here, but I do need input as I am undecided myself. :(

finally, something that doesn't suck (as much)

My bad excuse for not posting for so long was not having Dreamweaver. I've finally skipped over waiting for Jim to write me some code and just planted this on here. Sincerest apologies for the template--there will be some re-working. But 'LO, there is content!

I am not certain how many of you I have outreached, but I want to thank you for electing another Duopolist to office this last election. Seriously...thank you.

'08, please. Here is Kari, Badnarik, and I, in fact

Lew's writing gets better and better by the day.

Sooner or later I will have all of my photos indexed and archived away on a menu bar, but here are some of the ones I FTP'ed but never posted:
