I left my dignity with the Ramsey County Sheriff. (post 1)
The weekend is momentum! Methuselah's show on Thursday night was a major success. Nate reports that he was approached by the two following bands and asked if they can open for Methuselah some day. Judging by their turnout and how well they performed, they may just keep the name, but if you ask me I think they should switch back to Scallywags or Masquerade.
Jeremy hit the night right on the head with his 06/10/05 post, "Fundamentals", but here is my version: After a half-dozen rail pours for myself, we (MacKinney, Luke, Clint, Kari, and myself) disembarked from the Red Sea, which is under the tyranny of non-smoking Minneapolis borders, and regrouped at swank high rise central, in preparation of a "six mile" journey to The Liffey. It is actually about three-quarters of a mile, but MacKinney lies down more than he stands up. The bar tab opened at about 11:00, and closed some time close to 2:00. The drinks made the walk back a great deal shorter. We did drag MacKinney into a little DS9 marathon when we returned. MacKinney hates Star Trek. Everybody point at him!
Dragged myself out of my bedroom in time to see poor Jeremy MacKinney get hassled by his boss and drug into work on his day off. I made my way to my scheduled 'appointment' with the Ramsey County Sheriff to drop off my carry permit application. Good thing I left my kerambit in the car, as they had me empty my pockets and patted me down before I walked through the metal detector. It will be a good while before I am washed clean with this. I went by Nate's new place--he and Corey, their drummer, live in a studio in the Stevens Quarter in Minneapolis. They have camping chairs...it is awfully depressing. But no time with Nate is depressing. Starving, we took a nine-block walk up the "Eat Street" section of Nicollet Avenue before we found somewhere satisfactory, and were poured on all the way back. Soaking wet, we tooled with his X-Box, chugged some Old English 800, and I introduced him to ytmnd.com. Meanwhile, the Evil James Johns bought a thousand-dollar bicycle.
Today? Poker. I love that picture, too. The following post will be an interesting read.
to the weekend!
